What a Frickin' A Good Time..

This past weekend, along with my friend Ben Collier, and new friend Ryan Taylor, headed up to Mountain City, GA for the first SE Warrior Dash. This is a race that includes 12 obstacles; from the tire run, to a cargo net wall climb, to a mud pit and fire leap. Brenda thought I was crazy to do it, but it was just another adrenaline fix for me.

The course was advertise as being 3.22 miles in length, but for whatever reasons it was shortened to 2.45 miles, but the obstacles was all there and the ...

Just got an email from a reader of my blog who asked me what was going on since I have not updated the site since 03/01.. Life is what is happening.. more specifically, work and running. So let me get started and "try" to get up to date.

On the running from I did a couple of runs this past month. The first was the Silver Comet 10k on the 13th. This is always a good run to do ans the course if fairly flat and the after race support is good. I finished 143 overall (out of 845 finishers) with a t...

Keeps Going and Going and Going..

Posted by John Tackett on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, In : Running
Just a quick post for today 01/12/2010. 12 days into the new year already and I have logged 62 miles of running (that's 5 miles a day for you mathematically challenged.) I am off to the best start ever for a year or a month in regards to my running.

Who the Hell Is John Tackett?

Self described computer geek, who works as a data analyst for a large multinational telecommunication company that has a death star like logo. When I am not at work, I can be found, running or cycling the streets of the Atlanta area. Sometimes I can be spotted at the Georgia Aquarium where I am a volunteer. And for one week out of the year, I am found at Dragon*Con, where I am the Director of Charity Events. I believe that PC stands for "personal computer" and not "politically correct" so sometimes I can say things that others don't agree with. I am an advocate for bicycling and strongly believe that the political powers in ATL are anti-bike and could not pedal their way out of a paper bag. I live with my wife in a community just south of Atlanta (but the City name starts with East, go figure) with my 2 dogs, Tiffie and QT, where the dogs and I plot the takeover of the Atlanta road infrastructure freeing it to pedestrians, runner, cyclists and dogs (on leashes of course.) And the dogs wanted me to say.. "woof, woof, bark, growl -stop for a butt sniff - woof" Apparently their dog friends will know what that means.
