The past 2 weeks have been a busy 2 weeks with some good news on a couple of fronts. First good news is that I have been accepted for the NYC marathon on Nov. 7th of this year. Unlike the Boston, in which you must qualify, the NYC Marathon is done via a lottery system. BUT... you can skip the lottery if you pre-qualify for the event. I did that when i ran my 3h 13m marathon at Chickamauga in 2009. So Brenda and I will be heading off to the "Big Apple" later this year to run the event. I am so excited. This leaves just the Chicago Marathon on my list of "must-do" marathon. Perhaps in 2011

I also decided to purchase a new bike to add to my collection. I wanted something that was a bit heavier and cheaper than my current bikes. This way if I am in an accident, the damage to my pocketbook, and hopefully the bike, would be minimal. But i also wanted a single spped bike.. not a fixed gear, but a free wheel single speed. So I found a great deal at perfonace bikes and for less than $200 got what i wanted. of course I have made some "modifications" to suit my needs, and have a few more that i would like to do, but so far i am loving it. Requires a little more work in regards to going up the hills here in Atlanta, but I enjoy the ride and workout I am getting a good workout on the legs.

Tomorrow, the 20th of February, will be our 28th wedding anniversary. I cannot imagine how the past 28 years might of been without her by my side. We are planning on going out to dinner tomorrow night at a restaurant called California Dreaming. the menu looks good and I wanted to take her someplace nice. Unfortunately I have to work this weekend so that most likely will be the only time we have to celebrate. Bummer...

Anyway, need to go.. My running so far this year is going good; over 250 miles so far, and a 18 miler planned this weekend (hopefully) my next BIG race is the ING Georgia Marathon at the end of March and I am feeling good about the run.

So excuse me while I kiss the sky
