I am a person who likes to ride bicycles. I am a confident road users who pose very little danger to others, and only rarely am I seriously hurt myself.  I am confident in my cycling skills and predictable in my cycling habits. I wear a helmet because they are a form of cheap insurance to protect against the rare head injury (and to keep my wife happy), but I don’t get too worked up if others don’t wear them, it is an individual choice. I am a healthy and positive-minded individual because I get regular moderate exercise. I engage positively with my community, instead of sitting behind a self-imposed wall. I believe anyone can quickly learn to bike on our roads and be safe and confident in doing so. I work with others to offer a variety of fun and effective ways for people to do so. I work with others to make our public roads safer for everyone; pedestrians, motorists and especially children. I just want federal, state and local governments to treat me as a motorists with the same rights and responsibilities as all other drivers, and not as second-class citizens who is “in the way.”  Please come join me!
