Straggles of my mind...
February 10, 2010
Here it is, the 10th of February and I am getting tired of the cold we have been experiencing. While we are not getting the snow the mid-Atlantic states are getting, I am constantly finding myself having to dress up like Nanook of the North when I go out for a run, bike, walk or to work. I am shorts and t-shirt kinda guy.
About 2/3 of the escalators on the MARTA system are down do to inspection issues. Want a chance to see how out of shape the citizens of Atlanta are? Watch them as they walk up the stairs in Peachtree Center station. Usually about halfway up they stop. Even worse are the number of younger patrons taking the elevator, making it difficult for those that really need the elevator, to get on. We are a nation of Lard-asses!!!
My new bike has been shipped to the store and hope to have it by the weekend. It is a single speed bike and I have been wanting to add one to the bike stable for a while. it was cheap and I am sure I will spend a few $'s to upgrade it to my liking.
Submitted my application for the NYC marathon, now I am waiting for them to verify my qualifications and move me into the registered category. Arghhh the wait is killing me.
Found out yesterday that due to work related issues I will not be able to take time off for Dragon*Con in September. First time in 16 years that I will miss the event. Not too happy about it, but work does kinda take priority, considering the economy and all.
In 10 days I will be celebrating my 28th wedding anniversary; there was a time in my life I would of never thought that would happen. And yes, it has been an enjoyable 28 years.
Well that is all I have to straggle about for now. I am sure there is more, but I only have so much time in a day. But I want to leave you with a quote from John Lennon that pretty much sums up my religious POV.."I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong."
Now excuse me while I kiss the sky...
